Minibus Drivers Demand Change
Yesterday, Minibus operators in the city of Blantyre were demanding for a change in the way they are handled by traffic police.
Some irate bus drivers and conductors blocked roads in some townships forcing other commuter drivers to offload passengers whom they had on board.
Some drivers claimed that the police are now making numerous arrests on petty offences and charging them exorbitantly.
They added that there is need to harmonize traffic fees between minibuses and other small vehicles that are used for commuter purposes.
