Heath Organisation Provides Misuku Health Centre With New Maternity Wing In Chitipa



Misuku Health Centre in Chitipa has a new maternity wing courtesy of Integrated Pathways for Improved Maternal, Newborn and Child Heath organisation.In an interview, the organisation’s water and sanitation specialist George Namizinga said the maternity wing will motivate women to deliver at the health centre. 
Chitipa District director of health and social services Ted Bandawe said the initiative will reduce maternal and neonatal deaths in the area.
He said this year, the district registered one maternal death from four in 2019. The organisation also donated four ambulances in the district and is constructing a theatre at Nthalire Rural Hospital.
