Dedza District Commissioner Mr Emmanuel Bulukutu says they have received 30 million kwacha for implementation of COVID19 activities including buying personal protective equipment and disinfecting public facilities in the district.

Speaking during a meeting with Traditional Authorities in Dedza today Wednesday, Bulukutu said some communities are not following COVID19 regulations like wearing face mask and enforcing social distance hence engaging the chiefs .

Speaking on behalf of all Chiefs, Senior Chief Kachindamoto said they will ban initiation ceremonies and they will take a leading role in sensitising villagers to follow COVID19 regulations.

But Kachindamoto said some people are flocking into the country through boats and are not tested Covid19 upon arrival hence the need for security officers to conduct patrols along the lake too.
