A 24 year old woman identified as Josophine Andsen has been killed by an angry mob for trying to steal a motorbike from a motorcycle tax operator in Dedza.

Dedza Deputy Police Spokesperson Cassim Manda told Zodiak Online that Josephine Andsen and an unidentified man hired a motorcycle taxi from linthipe one depot to travel together to Gowoke village.


Manda said, while on the way, Josophine and her friend attacked the motorcycle tax operator who was ferrying them and he shouted for help. Upon hearing the shouts, nearby villagers rushed to the scene and stoned the two.

Comfiming the development, Manda said Josophine died on the spot while his friend sustained serious injuries and currently admitted to Dedza district hospital.
