President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to take questions from members of Parliament today

Attention will this afternoon shift to the new parliament building where President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to take questions from members of Parliament.

Chakwera becomes Malawi's only second democratically elected president to avail himself before the August House after former president Dr Bakili Muluzi who first appeared before the house in 1996.

Confirming Chakwera's presence in parliament,first deputy speaker Madalitso Kazombo said the president will be in the house at exactly 2 ocklock this afternoon.


According to Kazombo the president will take 5 questions from members of parliament and then will proceed to take supplementary questions from the 5 questions.

The president's question time session is expected to last 1 hour 30 minutes.
