Parents and guardians whose children were killed and others injured in a stampede at Bingu National Stadium three years ago say will march and hold vigil at Capitol Hill this Wednesday in pursue of compensation
Their representative, Moses Kalipinde, says they intend to start with prayers at the stadium and they are looking for well-wishing religious leaders to lead them with the prayers. They can reach Mr. Kalipinde on 0999311601. The stampede occurred as people forced their way into the stadium in commemoration of the National Independence Day on 6 July. Malawi Human Rights Commission's inquiry faulted late opening of the gates and demanded government to compensate the victims but they are yet to get the compensation.
