President Lazarus Chakwera is on Tuesday scheduled to go on his first international trip as Malawi's head of state to Zambia for a day
This is according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform members of the general public that his Excellency Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi, will go on a one day Official Working Visit to the Republic of Zambia on 22nd September, 2020.
“His Excellency the President is expected to depart through the Kamuzu International Airport at 08:00 hrs and return at 16:00hrs”
He is expected to hold talks with his Zambian counterpart Edgar Lungu.
According to Foreign Affairs Minister Eisenhower Mkaka the two leaders will discuss among others issues on trade and the economy.
Full details of the outcome of the state visit to Zambia will be announced later.
