Pharmanova donates Covid-19 protective materials to APAM
Pharmavova Malawi Limited Saturday donated 50 boxes of face masks, 500 bottles of hand sanitiser and 1000 bottles of sun screen lotion worth MK1.3 million to the Association of Persons with Albinism (APAM).
Giving the donation, Marketing manager for Pharmanova Malawi Limited Swapnil Kawle commended the work APAM is doing in supporting people with albinism by insuring full human rights and sustainable livelihood for people with albinism.
Swapnil said: “as Pharmanova we thought that it is necessary and an honor to donate 50 boxes Of masks and 200 hand sanitizers to APAM due to this pandemic that has hit the world at large.”
He further said, it is good for people with albinism to be protected from the sun as their skin is sensitive to direct sunlight and Pharmanova has also donated 1000 bottles of novacare Camphor cream as it moisturizes the skin and the donation is worthy 1.3 million kwacha.
Representative of National Executive Council for APAM Viginia Chimodzi expressed gratitude towards the donation saying that it has come in good time where the world is busy fighting Covid-19 pandemic and Novacare camphor will help persons with albinism during the hot season.
Chimodzi also explained that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought economic challenges in so doing most people with albinism are restricted to participate in entrepreneurship activities resulting in poverty and some people discriminating persons with albinism thinking that, they have the coronavirus.
Pharmanova Malawi Limited is the largest privately company in Malawi and it has been in business industry since 1970.
